In this episode Bart convinces his friends to steal alcohol from their parents in an effort to ‘perk up’ Mrs. Krobopple at school. As they mix the vodka in her coffee Mrs. Krobopple becomes intoxicated at which her work suffers. She is obviously under the influence and made remarks that lacked professionalism and has put her job in jeopardy. Principle Skinner is forced to fire Mrs. Krobopple. Bart feels the need tell principle that they did it, but Bart’s new teacher is an upbeat young technological advanced male. He starts texting and using modern technology to become modernized. Bart takes the need to visit Mrs. Krobopple at home and realizes the signs of depression. Bart and Milhouse begin planning on a way to help Mrs. Krobopple. Bart finds a book about ancient power and tries to give it to Mrs. Krobopple. Bart gets Mrs. Krobopple to write her dream on a piece of paper and have her open a Bakery. As he is leaving Bart tells Mrs. Krobopple he was responsible for getting her fired. Mrs. Krobopple forces Bart to get back her job and in doing so Bart gets his new teacher drunk and Mrs. Krobopple is reinstated.
This episode demonstrated how easily it is for alcohol to be accessible to children. Bart and his friends just broke into their parents liquor stashes like it was no problem. Obviously in real life it would not be that 3rd or 4th graders would attempt to steal parents’ alcohol, but with high school students being the main target audience it gives them an idea to do so.
Hahahaha you have to love the simpson way of doing things. Instead of confessing that it was him all along, he gets his new teacher drunk too. I think this episode (I recall it from before) is indeed a shout out to highschoolers. There are countless tales and even news reports of students spiking some food at school. The most frequent story is the classic 'special' brownies, I remember watching a news report where some kid brought these pot brownies to school and got everyone high. He ended up being charged for poisoning the class. Forcing intoxication on someone is never a light matter.
