My 4th blog

In this episode Bart convinces his friends to steal alcohol from their parents in an effort to ‘perk up’ Mrs. Krobopple at school. As they mix the vodka in her coffee Mrs. Krobopple becomes intoxicated at which her work suffers. She is obviously under the influence and made remarks that lacked professionalism and has put her job in jeopardy.  Principle Skinner is forced to fire Mrs. Krobopple. Bart feels the need tell principle that they did it, but Bart’s new teacher is an upbeat young technological advanced male. He starts texting and using modern technology to become modernized. Bart takes the need to visit Mrs. Krobopple at home and realizes the signs of depression. Bart and Milhouse begin planning on a way to help Mrs. Krobopple. Bart finds a book about ancient power and tries to give it to Mrs. Krobopple. Bart gets Mrs. Krobopple to write her dream on a piece of paper and have her open a Bakery. As he is leaving Bart tells Mrs. Krobopple he was responsible for getting her fired. Mrs. Krobopple forces Bart to get back her job  and in doing so Bart gets his new teacher drunk and Mrs. Krobopple is reinstated.
This episode demonstrated how easily it is for alcohol to be accessible to children.  Bart and his friends just broke into their parents liquor stashes like it was no problem. Obviously in real life it would not be that 3rd or 4th graders would attempt to steal parents’ alcohol, but with high school students being the main target audience it gives them an idea to do so.

Donnie Fatso

When Donnie is played throughout the whole episode it gets boring to me. It is like another remake, or cartoon, or some show just based off of many other mob stories or gangster stories. The bits and pieces in some episodes are funny and seem to make sense but I just got bored with this episode. The plot of the episode is pretty plain with Homer being in trouble then removing time if he goes undercover. Seems to me just a basic mob plot again. They were creative with changing the pace of the episode from the regular episodes, it was something different and i guess i still enjoyed most the episode even though it wasn't my favorite.

midsummers nice dream

This episode was very interesting with the Simpsons using cheech and chong. Normally people portray them with funny jokes and great comedy but the Simpsons played them as not so funny jokes and didnt seem like they wanted to get a laugh.

They werent shown as they normally are but as how they were as people, where I dont know if they wanted comedy out of that or to show the difference in people real lives compared to their acting lives.

I thought the crazy cat lady was pretty funny due to the show on tv hoarders now, but didnt make the episode a ton better.

This episode had some meaning as in people are a lot diff from how they are on tv, but i didnt get much out of this episode.

viva ned flanders

This episode begins at the Montgomery Burns being demolished.  With the explosion, dust covers the car and Marge suggests that Homer should get the car washed. As Homer ignores her request Lenny pulls up and states that he should get it washed. When Homer takes his advice, Ned strolls in and gets half off because he is ‘Senior Citizen’.  Homer learns that Ned is 60 years old at the church. Everyone in the church claims that Ned has been wasting his life and Ned begins to attempt to start hanging out with Homer and learn to loosen up and have some fun. Homer preaches that Ned needs to live on impulse and decides to take him to Las Vegas. Homer begins gambling and Homer loses everything in Ned’s wallet. Homer begins stating that Ned should lose his common sense by drinking alcohol. In the morning Homer and Ned wake up in a hotel and do not remember a thing. Homer and Ned wake up to two women claiming they got married during the night. Homer and Ned decide to make a run for it but are then caught and thrown out of Nevada because they claim ‘Las Vegas doesn’t need their out of town money.’ Homer and Ned begin their journey home attempting to figure out a story to tell their wives.

When Marge tells Homer he should go to the carwash he ignores her, but when Lenny tells him that he should get it washed he does. This is funny because when it comes to manly material men generally do not take women’s opinions to matter as much as other men.  The entire trip to Las Vegas resembles the movie of the ‘Hangover’. Some of the one liners throughout the episode trace the ironic image of what Vegas is about. When attempting to ditch their new wives, the security officer says ‘Husbands mistreating their spouses, not in Las Vegas’. This is ironic because of the general rule of Vegas; “What happens in Vegas, Stays Vegas.”

Simpsons-Angry Dad

The hockey scene had a great impact with the couch because I’m a college hockey player and known it was hockey day in USA on the 20th. I thought it was interesting and unexpected that it started that way. The Itchy and Scratchy video showed some symbolism of classism with the rice farmer and the rich. It related somewhat to ragtime and just showed the differences in classes. I hadn’t watched much of the Simpsons like I used too, but there hasn’t seemed to have much change. I did get laughs at the Polanski and Hopkins joke. The episode was pretty plain with Bart trying to make a video, but I was able to learn that even though Bart did all the work and didn’t get much of the credit he did realize he had to give Homer some credit. He didn’t get fully what he deserved but either does anyone. It relates to life as no matter how hard you work you may not get everything you deserve.
